Weight Loss Tips To Help You Drop Those Pounds

Weight Loss is A Journey

Losing weight is one of the biggest challenges our society faces. With fast food joints on every corner and most so busy they can’t even find a moment to relax, let alone exercise. Many are focused on calorie counting in hopes of shedding those unwanted pounds. But doctors stress the importance of the nutritional value, not just the calorie value.

We’ve got 5 tips to help you on your weight loss journey:

1. Avoid Processed Foods.

Processed foods have been on the rise for the last 200 years. However you need real unprocessed foods for the necessary vitamins and fibers that your body needs in order to keep your body running smoothly. As a rule of thumb, it is better to eat foods that contain the least amount of ingredients. Real food can help you feel better, sleep better and real foods are less addictive.

2. Stop when you’re full.

When you swallow food, it takes about 15-20 minutes for it to register with your body. Try and slow down with you eat, and put your fork down in between bites. This will give your body a chance to realize it’s eaten. When you do feel full, stop eating. Try and time your meals and snacks accordingly so you avoid overeating and prolonged hunger. If you are starving when you finally do eat, you are more likely to overeat.

3. Moderation

Portion size is a huge problem, and unfortunately more don’t even know correct portion sizes. May times our eyes to to be bigger than our stomach. In order to avoid this, remember to eat in moderation. Snack throughout the day and never gorge yourself.

4. Water

Drinking water is so important in keeping your body healthy it plays a role in key bodily functions. Drinking can help make you feel fuller longer. Many times people often mistake the feeling of thirst with the feeling of hunger. By staying hydrated you can avoid that feeling of needing to eat. So next time you feel hungry, try having a glass of water before you eat. You never know, you might not be hungry, just really really thirsty!

Lifestyle:

Diets come and go like passing fads, but instead of prescribing to one of the many different diet plans try maintaining a healthier lifestyle. When you are able to break those unhealthy habits, you will naturally begin to lose weight. Diets can be hard and many are unsuccessful. But changing your lifestyle can help you stay healthy. These changes don’t have to happen overnight – just try for one change at a time.
